Dragon Age: Inquisition Delayed Until November
Fans of Bioware's Dragon Age series will have to wait a little longer for the latest installment as the studio is pushing Dragon Age: Inquisition's release back to November 18--over a month later than the game's planned October 7 launch.
In a press release, executive producer Mark Darrah explained that the delay was for polishing player experiences: "Ensuring that our open spaces are as engaging as possible. Strengthening the emotional impact of the Hero's choices. And ensuring the experience you get is the best it can be." While this may be disheartening news for fans, especially those who have already preordered the game, a one-month delay is small in comparison to the year-long one that moved Inquisition from Fall 2013 to 2014 in the first place.
The game's Keep system--which allows players to tailor their Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age II choices for importing to Inquisition--was giving developers trouble earlier in development, but the system has already entered closed beta as of June. It's currently unclear what specific parts, if any, of Inquisition are behind the delay, although Darrah's comment about the open-world spaces means it might have something to do with the way regions are meant to change to reflect player decisions.
Dragon Age: Inquisition is now set to release on November 18 in America, and November 21 in the EU for new and previous gen consoles and PC.
