DOOM Open Beta Coming Soon
Bethesda and id’s reboot of the DOOM franchise is out later this year, and a beta test has been ongoing for the select few for a while now. You can read our thoughts on the beta right here on GameGrin. If you weren’t fortunate enough to be in on the first beta preview, then fear not, there’s a fully open beta coming between the 15th and 18th April.
There’s no key needed for this second beta, simply register and logon, then you will get full access to Team Deathmatch and Warpath modes on the Heatwave and Infernal maps. Of course, the full game will have a lot more than this when it launches on the 13th May, this is just a taster to make sure that it a game you definitely want to spend some money on.
The game features the new “SnapMap” functionality. This is designed to make map creation and user generated content, a long term staple of the series, a lot easier to create and share. On top of being able to access and play new modes and maps created by fellow gamers, id plans to offer content updates for SnapMap, including map modules; props and objects; additional features and functionality; AI enhancements; editing tool enhancements and more. Multiplayer will also receive content updates in the form of new game modes. Both of these SnapMap and multiplayer updates will be free to use and play.
