Diablo III Celebrates Third-Year Anniversary with Cow Level

Diablo III is 3 years old and the developers at Blizzard Entertainment have planned a very special celebration for it this year - by giving it the infamous Cow Level treatment from the legacy Diablo games.

The Cow Level is available for the PC/Mac, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players by slaying a certain Herald of the Queen elite monster from a random encounter. This opens up a 'strange portals that may or may not lead to alternate planes of existence' with lots of demoonic bovines chasing you, lots of chests and loot drops and a cow queen to kill to get you even more moo-loot.

The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 players of the Ultimate Edition will get a 100% XP and gold buff instead (which means no cow levels), which will stack with any existing bonuses granted for the anniversary celebrations.

But of course, all this is moot if you don't log in between Friday, May 15, at 12:00 a.m. PDT and Thursday, May 21, at 11:59 p.m. PDT.
