Destruction AllStars Is Getting Bots To Address Low Player Numbers
In a recent development update posted to the Destruction AllStars Reddit page, developer Lucid Games have revealed that bots will be coming to the game to address low player numbers.
Lucid Games talks about the planned inclusion of bots for online matches but noting that player numbers can be low depending on the time you are playing.
"With a community the size of Destruction AllStars, spread out across the world we do have peak times and low times of player activity for online matchmaking."
(The peaks being around UTC 4pm - 10pm weekdays and UTC 2:00pm until 1:00am on the weekends)
"We want to ensure that matches are filled to capacity with as many real players as possible, but when missing X amount of players when queuing for a match, AI bots will take the remaining places. The exception to this is Blitz, as a competitive mode, Blitz will never feature Bot’s."
While their isn't a date at this time for what bots will be added to the game, the developer notes that this will be coming "further down the road."
Bots are not the only featuring planned for Destruction AllStars, as the post also details that work is underway on adding a new global party feature, updates to playlists, and several quality of service changes alongside the new bots. Once again, no dates on when this features might go live has been revealed at this time.
Destruction AllStars is available now on PlayStation 5.
