Destroy all Humans! Returns

Destroy all Humans! Returns

Four years on from THQ Nordic's purchase of the name and IPs of the former THQ games studio, we have an PS4 reissue of one of the most popular games from said studio, Destroy all Humans!

The tongue-in-cheek action game sees you playing as Crypto, an anal probe wielding alien, intent on the enslavement of humanity, along with the abduction of a few cows as he goes. Set in 1959, the title borrows heavily from the B-movies that were often set in that era.

Available at $19.99/£15.99 on the PlayStation Store, the game is not just a PS2 re-release, but a full remastering, possibly paving the way for a new title in the series. The last game seen in the franchise was 2008's Destroy all Humans: Path of the Furon.

“We’re happy to finally answer fans’ questions about what’s next for the Destroy All Humans franchise,” said Reinhard Pollice, Business and Product Development Director at THQ Nordic. “Remastering the original for PS4 somehow makes every bovine encounter and governmental mishap even funnier – Crypto is at his absolute best on PS4!”

I won't lie, I'm sorely tempted to pick this up. I don't go for a lot of PS2 re-releases or remakes, but I remember this being so charming...

This was one of my favourite games on the original Xbox, I'm tempted to grab a copy too, just so that we have a better chance of seeing a sequel.
