Destiny Update 1.1 is Live

Bungie have rolled out their latest update for Destiny and it is ready to install next time you log in to the servers.

This update, update 1.1 as Bungie have said, focuses on exotic weapons and further improvements to The Vault of Glass raid. For a full list of the what the update will involve you can see Bungie's post here.

One highlight of update 1.1 is the change in how you will upgrade your exotic weapons and armour. Ascendant materials will no longer help your exotics progress, and instead the final node of upgrade will require an exotic shard, obtained from Xur or by dismantling exotic items. This is all in preparation of the first expansion The Dark Below.

For those players who found the farming for upgrade materials tedious, you will now be able to purchase the likes of helium filaments, spirit bloom, spinmetal and relic iron from Vanguard and Crucible quartermasters for the cost of vanguard of crucible marks.

Other updates include individual weapon tweaks, raid patches and general technical fixes.

Destiny will receive its first expansion this month when The Dark Below is released on December 9th.
