Dedicated Servers to Shut Down for Friday the 13th: The Game
The dedicated servers for IllFonic's Friday the 13th: The Game will be taken offline this month, November 2020, following a final patch that will fix a myriad of bugs and issues in the game.
The server closure was announced by Matt Shotcha, community developer at Gun Media, on the game's official forums. He confirmed that, although the game's dedicated servers would be closing, it will still be playable via peer-to-peer matchmaking. Furthermore, the database servers which track players' progression and unlocks will remain online.
Finally, the official forums, despite being locked for posting and replying, will be archived for use by members of the game's community.
While this is indeed sad news for fans of the asymmetrical multiplayer horror title, it's at least some small consolation to see the game live on in some form (albeit a diminished one).
Friday the 13th: The Game will close its dedicated servers at some point in November 2020.

It would be fitting if they shut them down this Friday (it'll be a Friday the 13th)
