Dead Island 2 Developer Removed From The Project

Yager, perhaps best known for developing Spec Ops: The Line, are no longer working on Dead Island 2. 

A statement from publisher Deep Silver reads: "With Dead Island 2, Deep Silver has always been dedicated to delivering the sequel that Dead Island fans deserve. After careful consideration, today we announce the decision to part ways with development partner Yager."

The now-former developers, Yager, stated that the "respective visions" of themselves and Deep Silver "fell out of alignment."

Dead Island 2 had already been delayed till 2016, but a change of leadership could see that release date pushed back even further.

As for Yager, they're now switching their attention to Dreadnought, a space combat title "as well as on new projects."

Yager CEO Tim Ullmann added that we might hear more news on their upcoming projects at Gamescom, which begins 5th August.
