Dead Cells Update 21 Releases on PC
The next major update (update 21) for Motion Twin's rogue-lite metroidvania title Dead Cells is out now on Steam. Console versions are set to follow suit "around February time". There are a slew of changes this time around, spanning aesthetic, gameplay, mechanics, balancing and more. Check out some of the highlights below:
- New Weapon: Katana - Slash and dash in style with this highly-requested weapon.
- New Enemy: The Demolisher - Requested by Leylite#4491 on Motion Twin's official Discord server, this new foe fires explosive crossbow bolts, blasting you into oblivion (or, rather, a few feet backwards).
- New Outfits - Including two Christmas-themed ones.
- New Lore Room - Giving some more details on the Hand of the King.
- Backpack Changes - Now serving as a meta upgrade (like, as Motion Twin suggests, Recycling or the random starting weapon tubes), the backpack can now store any single-handed weapon except for the Giantkiller.
- Five New Mutations - Primarily focused on backpack integration and ranged builds.
- Changes to the Malaise Mechanic
