DayZ Standalone Won't be Officially Launching till 2016
For you any of you who are expecting to see the full release of DayZ Standalone any time soon will be disappointed. Bohemia Interactive have announced that the game won't get a full release till mid-2016. So for now, it's still an Early Access Title on Steam.
Not only that but Bohemia have confirmed will receive a price increase. Right now, during the Steam sale it is 15% off making it £19.54 but, after sale the price will jump up to £22.99. Which funnily enough is already an increase from £19.99 before the sale. Naughty Bohemia.
None the less, Bohemia have also released a run down for the plans for the game in 2015. Which are as followed:
Q1 2015
- Basic vehicles
- Advanced loot distribution
- New renderer
- New Zombie AI
- Basic stealth system (zombies and animals)
- Diseases
Q2 2015
- Advanced vehicles (repair and modifications)
- Advanced animals (life cycle, group behavior)
- Player statistics
- New UI
- Player stamina
- Dynamic events
Q3 2015
- Traps
- Barricading
- Character life span + soft skills
- Animal predators + birds
- Aerial transport
- Console prototype
Q4 2015
- Animal companions
- Steam community integration
- Construction (base building)
- Beta version, expected price €34.99 / $43.99.
Bohemia have also promised each month will have additional weapons, objects and craft able items as well as additional features and optimisations.
So with that all said. Will there still be interest in the game when it's officially released in 2016? Would people just move onto something else by then, such as SOE's H1Z1?
Regardless, if your interested in trying out the game, now is the best chance to purchase before the "price" increase.

Wonder if they will hike the price again so they can have it on "Sale" and still get what they want for it.

Nah, this is nothing like War Z. The devs of Day Z haven't been lying about stuff the entire time.
