Days Gone Receives Some Love in Latest PlayStation State of Play February
One of the first titles to make their way to PC from the PlayStation exclusivity grip was Days Gone, an open-world zombie title where you search for a reason to live. Acclaimed for its zombie behaviour and horde quanitites, it landed very positively with Steam users, earning a 92% positive rating with nearly 70,000 reviews to date.
Though Days Gone has had a tumultuous time ever since, with issues that prevented the inception of Days Gone 2, it seems that PlayStation may not be done with the game just yet. Announced in the State of Play stream of February, the official Days Gone Remasteredis going to be arriving soon for players.
The announcement gives players a look at what we can expect with the official remaster, taking a deep dive into what we can expect in terms of the PlayStation version (and later on the PC, which we'll be covering soon, too).
Here's what we know about the PlayStation 5 version of Days Gone Remastered:
- The game is built specifically with the power of the PlayStation 5 console in mind, bringing higher graphical fidelity and a better overall experience
- Quality and Performance modes for improved framerates or better graphics
- DualSense Controller Support to immerse you in the gameplay
- New accessibility features, including High Contrast Mode, Game Speed, UI Narration, Collectible Audio Cues, Controller Remapping, Field of View slider, and more
These were the main feature and changes coming to the PlayStation version of the game, but that isn't everything that eager players can expect. Coming to both the PC and the PlayStation 5 is the new Broken Roads DLC, which is coming with a fair share of new additions, bringing in new gameplay for new and returning players looking to tackle Days Gone.
There is a bit of new content coming to Broken Roads, which will feature new modes, additional content, and many reasons to revisit the title. This brings in new gameplay elements for those wishing to tackle the experience.
The Broken Roads DLC includes the following additions:
- New Horde Assault game mode to earn scores, including new enemies and increased horde sizes (good luck) set across familiar locations like Cascade, Belknap, Lost Lake, and Crater Lake.
- A new hardcore Permadeath mode to experience the entire story without dying... and dying means returning back to the beginning of the game or the second act to try your luck again.
- A new Speedrun game mode to pass through the story as quickly as possible, including a special end-game graphic to share and brag
The Days Gone Remastered and Broken Roads DLC are both making their way to PlayStation 5 and Windows PC via Steam on the 25th of April 2025 as a digital-only experience. Owners of a Days Gone copy on PlayStation 4 will only need to pay $10 to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 remaster, whereas owners of the PC version will only need to buy the DLC for the same price.
