Day of the Devs 2025: Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School

Tonight at Day of the Devs 2025, we got to take a look at Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School, the world premiere of the sequel to 2022’s Escape Academy. 

Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School will be an open-world escape room, where between classes you can explore the living and breathing campus. Overall, you can expect the whole academy to be treated as one huge escape room. 

With inspiration drawn from Legend of Zelda and Animal Well’s approaches to puzzle solving, they’ve incorporated their own knowledge of immersive narrative escape rooms with this. 

Since the release of the first Escape Academy, Coin Crew Games has wondered how they could push their escape rooms even further by looking at feedback. Since receiving feedback, they’ve incorporated the ability to actually be a student, meeting others, and finding more rooms to escape from.

You’ll find hidden rooms, and the campus will reward your curiosity. Using environmental storytelling and lighting and atmosphere, they plan to embrace the ability to actually become a student yourself. Your fellow escapists will give you quests, reveal lore, and provide more narrative towards the game’s central mystery.
