Dark Souls II Getting a Bugfix for Durability Issues Caused by High Framerates
Developers over at From Software have released an announcement on the latest Dark Souls II patch 1.02 that will be coming soon. While this patch comes with the regular fixes, one particular bug that has been around for a year finally gets some attention and will be fixed.
For the PC players of Dark Souls II over the past year, their weapons' durability has worn out much faster when running the game at higher frame rates such as 60fps. While weapons degradation from swings is normal, for some odd reason, durability is tied to the fps of the system, resulting in players playing at higher frame rates having to repair their weapons much earlier, effectively penalizing them for having better gaming systems.
With this issue now affecting a larger audience with the release of Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin as the next generation consoles run the game at 60 fps as well, From Software would be fixing the problem once and for all with the new patch, which will be rolled out to the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 users soon.
