Dark Souls 2 Sells 1.2 Million in the West
FromSoftware has announced that they have sold 1.2 million copies of third person death simulator Dark Souls 2. It should be understood that this is just the Namco Bandai western world console release. It doesn't include PC sales or Japanese sales as the game was self published in that territory and the PC version came out after the cut-off date.
Dark Souls took a month to hit 1.5 million sales and has now reached 2.4 million which makes the third game of the series slightly ahead of the curve set by the original.
This news comes alongside the report that Bandai Namco's retail and arcade games contributed 155.5 billion yen to net sales, which works out at about $1.5 billion US and overall, Bandai Namco posted a net profit of 25 billion yen ($246 million).
