Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Anniversary Edition Now Available

In celebration of its 10th anniversary on the 25th of November, 2020 the “Anniversary Editions” were created for mobile as a commemorative project. Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair has now joined the ranks.

Developer Spike Chunsoft, Inc. has announced that the anniversary edition of Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair will now be available to download on Xbox One and Windows 10. Those of us who have Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass will be happy to know that it is also available on there too.

In contrast to the bunker-like school setting of the first game, this second entry is set on the once-popular, now uninhabited, tropical Jabberwock Island. When a school trip goes downhill you have to work with your classmates to solve the island’s mysteries and progress through the story in order to survive Monokuma’s murderous game. The anniversary edition comes with a gallery feature to view event illustrations and scenes as well as listen to the voiced dialogue.

The Danganronpa series is made up of three main titles and one spin-off title that together have shipped more than five million units worldwide. These have been released on multiple platforms including PS4, PS Vita, mobile, and Nintendo Switch but have also spawned other projects for TV anime, manga, novels, live theatrical productions, popular merchandise, and various collaboration events.
