Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time gamescom Closer Look

We had a first look at the “Flashback Tapes” featured in Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, which are unlockable levels set in the 90s when Crash and Coco were tested rigorously by Dr. Cortex. The levels were described as “crazy” and “extremely difficult” and are likely a worthy challenge for any completionists or veterans of the series. The Flashback Tapes can only be accessed when found in a level without dying, a callback to the death routes in the original trilogy. Different difficulty modes were also expanded on, as well, such as a retro mode for veteran players as well as a more forgiving and more modern mode that allows you to come back to a checkpoint every time.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is being developed by Toys for Bob, and will release on the 2nd of October 2020, on both PS4 and Xbox One.
