Countries That Won't Be Able to Purchase God of War Ragnarök and Until Dawn
The latest PlayStation State of Play announced some exciting titles coming to PC, alongside their official Steam release pages — while we knew about Until Dawn since January, it is the first time we get a look at the Steam store page. With this, however, came some unfortunate news for a lot of games worldwide: both God of War Ragnarök and Until Dawn will require an active PlayStation Network account to work.
These news are shocking, though not surprising, as the recent release of Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTOR'S CUT followed the controversial decision by Sony to keep the PlayStation Network requirement. Though it has been scrapped on HELLDIVERS 2 (at least, for the time being), the countries that cannot purchase the game on Steam coincide with those that cannot create PlayStation Network accounts.
What's odd, however, is that both God of War Ragnarök and Until Dawn are exclusively single-player experiences, meaning that any online requirement isn't mandatory. Contrary to both HELLDIVERS 2 and Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTOR'S CUT, which both feature online modes, neither of these upcoming releases have a semblance of online versions — yet, they still require a PlayStation Network and will have the overlay that was available in Sony's latest release.
It's not quite shocking, however, as despite the best efforts of some gamers in the world who have boycotted Ghost of Tsushima's Steam PC release, it still became the best-received title for Sony ever since God of War (2018) received its PC port. In essence, showing that though there is an outrage, the 180 omitted countries and those who boycott the title in solidarity didn't manage to make enough of an impact to stop this from being such a successful release.

This information is pulled from SteamDB in the individual update history of both titles. We've previously touched on these 180 countries and have deduced from country codes that the three unknown ones are the following:
- Andorra
- Metropolitan France
- Dubai
This means that Sony's doubling down on their decision to block the countries that cannot access PlayStation Network, and it's likely it'll become a prevalent issue for all of their titles to come.
