Coromon's Release Date Announced in New Trailer
Do you like to tame monsters? Well, do I have brilliant news for you. Coromon will be dropping on 31st March. Developed by TRAGsoft and published by Freedom Games, we can expect to find it on Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mac (both of these on Steam) on this date.
You might be wondering, "Sure, I like to tame monsters, but what else can I expect?" Well, that's an excellent question. In this universe, you're an apprentice Coromon trainer who journeys across the Velua region to collect some both fearsome and adorable creatures called Coromon. But how do you capture them? With the help of the latest technology from a brilliant scientist by the name of Lux Solis, of course! As you travel on your journey, you'll go out of your way to stop a shady organisation from releasing the dark power of the Coromon Titans upon the world.
You're probably thinking, wait, but doesn't this sound familiar? Well, it does and there's a reason for that. Coromon is a love letter to Pokémon, and you can clearly see this in the trailer above. The pixel art embraces the Pokémon games of old, and as you travel the locations you can see how much they've been influenced.
There are over 120 Coromon, and there are numerous different ones, some examples include sand, magic, foul, heavy, air, and poison types. But it's not completely like the Pokémon games of old. You fight in numerous tactical battles and explore puzzle filled dungeons. There are numerous roadside brawls to get into, and the boss fights aren't just one stage, but many. Previously, I mentioned the Titans, of which they're comprised of six legendary Coromon, but you need to defeat them to make sure that your way of life is undisturbed.
Between battles, you can return to the Trainer Hub in order to nurse your squad back to health before you go on another journey. Naturally, you can train your Coromon and cutomise their stats' pool, be it for your own game or to play against others competitively.
You can choose to play from three open save slots, so you can experiment with play styles. Then, let's not forget the difficulty modes you can choose from, which even includes a "Nuzlocke" option. Along with modifying difficulty, you can even customise your character with a wide range of fashion options. Not only this, but to pick your starter, you can take a personality test to match yourself with your perfect Coromon, or you can pick whichever one looks either coolest or cutest.
No doubt, Coromon has been described as a "modern take on a classic and beloved genre" by Jochem Pouwels, the founder of TRAGsoft. Personally, I'm quite excited about this, and look forward to the game's release.
So, if you're interested, remember, Coromon is out 31st March, and will be available on Nintendo Switch, PC and Mac via Steam and will have support for multiple languages. If you'd like to learn more, then check out the official site.
