ClayFighter Remastered Announced
Interplay have announced that Drip Drop Games is creating a remastered ClayFighter.
The original was released on the SNES and later the Mega Drive, and featured fighters constructed out of - can you guess? - clay. The claymation was a stark contrast to the brutally realistic (at the time) graphics of Mortal Kombat, despite the similarities in gameplay.
It was followed with ClayFighter 2: Judgment Clay only on the SNES and ClayFighter 63⅓ on the N64.
Here's what they have to say about the remastered version:
- Characters such as Bad Mr. Frosty, Blue Suede Goo, Earthworm Jim, Hoppy, Boogerman, Tiny - and more with over 20 characters total!
- Over 20 familiar environments from the series to duke it out in!
- Brand new gameplay introducing new mechanics to the series such as double jumping, air dashing, counters, and reversals!
- Unique supers and 'Claytality' moves for each character!
It will feature remastered audio and high resolution visuals, and is to be released "for personal computers" in 2016.
