City of Springs Receives Official Early Access Release Date
For the new year, developers The Naked Dev and Alterego Games are proud to announce the release of their ambitious City of Springs!
City of Springs is an ambitious open-world title that the team describes as Horizon Zero Dawn meets Clash of Clans combat. Set in the last city of Earth, you take control of a brilliant mechanic who goes by the name of Val. You'll be in charge of standing up to the ministries that have taken over City of Springs and free the world from the cruel regime.
As you set out into the city, you'll play through elasticity as you explore nooks and crannies, finding resources that'll assist you in creating new abilities. Help those who need it the most and sneak your way through the guards or fight through the story — it'll be up to you to decide which route to take!
We wanted a game in which the player has the freedom to choose whether to fight or sneak their way towards their goal. A story-driven game with lots of gameplay that is casual in nature, so the game is accessible to a broad audience. A game that rewards the exploration of the world and makes the players feel they are making a real change to the world.
— Vincent da Silva, Lead Game Designer.
City of Springs will be released on Steam Early Access, but the release will feature from 8–20 hours of gameplay, featuring the full narrative from start to finish, 43 sidequests, and 32 main quests. The final version is expected to differ by incorporating more quality-of-life changes, additional quests, smoother gameplay, and improvements to the graphics and performance. According to the Early Access box on Steam, the game is expected to be in this state for about a year or two, depending on the amount of work the team will have to do and the community feedback as they incorporate them into the development process.
If you're excited to jump into the last city of Earth, then you'll be able to take control of Val when City of Springs releases on the 31st of January 2025 for Steam Early Access.
