Check Out The First Descendant's Season 2 Announcement Trailer!
The Season 2 announcement trailer has dropped for NEXON's The First Descendant, and with it, there's a lot for players of the free-to-play shooter to look forward to. Entitled Season 2: Void Chaser, here's a little bit of info.
For those who are new to The First Descendant, well, with the story of Albion unfolding, the Descendants need to follow some mysterious signals from the Deep Void, where they are searching for the "Iron Heart". There have been more growing risks stemming from the abandoned Vulgus ships and resources, and so with it, you'll be getting new Descendants to explore the Void Vessel.
The New Descendants are Keelan and Ines Raya, who work for H.O.U.N.D, a special recon unit for Void Vessel operations. Keelan is the first of the new Descendants to appear upon the launch of Season 2, where you'll be able to utilise his toxic abilities and his consecutive dash skill to help pierce through your enemies. Meanwhile, Ines Raya will be debuting a little later on in the season, when there's another update in January.
As I mentioned before, they'll be exploring the Void Vessel, which is the newest dungeon. The Void Vessel is an unidentified, abandoned ship lurking in the depths of the Void. There, you'll have to face the formidable boss: Dread Armor. It will be massive. Its weapons will evolve - handgun to shield, shield to dual melee, dual melee to handguns - and will be available in Normal and Hard difficulties, and not only will defeating it reward you with Keelan, but also a new companion: Fellow.
Fellow is your new Arche companion, and has been restored from the genetic material from the Void Vessel. It's a familiar lifeform, and in Season 2's Shepherd Fellow, it will be customisable and always wants to be pet.
Sharen will also have a new Story Quest, where after failing to assassinate the cyborg Vulgus, and gaining an Arche driven body, you'll be able to unlock her secrets and more lore behind her archenemy. You'll also be able to unlock Ultimate Sharen, who can avoid traps, and has other skills, such as Area Suppression, which allows her to hurl daggers in a 360-degree radius. I should note though, that she can only avoid traps in Stealth Mode, which means it's time to sneak past your enemies.
There will also be a new Void Abyss Intercept Battle, where you'll face against new giant bosses. To stop them, you'll need to disrupt their Void Reflux Mode, which allows them to regenerate their parts and enhance abilities. Then, as a reward, Descendants can get Colossi-themed skins.
Of course, no update is complete without news of new Ultimate Weapons. These include Hammer and Anvil and Voltia. Hammer and Anvil won't have an aiming function, but it supports a firing mode switch to Anvil Mode. By pressing the aim button, you can switch it to Anvil Mode to release a single explosive projectile which will explode after a set amount of time, and release multiple pellets in all directions. While the Voltia Beam Rifle will be available for free via the Season 2 Battle Pass. It will harness the same discharge technology Bunny's suit uses, which emits energy that will chain damage to all enemies surrounding your initial target. Plus, it will break Anti-Void shields, which can usually only be destroyed by skills, so it'll be handy on your Void Vessel missions.
There are more updates and additions to look forward to in The First Descendant Season 2, so keep your eyes and ears peeled for its release on 5th December. You can play The First Descendant on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam now.
