Check out Shogun Showdown's Release Date Trailer!

After 14 months on Steam Early Access, Shogun Showdown has averaged a user score of 96%, with over 2300 reviews praising it. With that, the Italian solo developer behind it, Roboatino, and the French publisher, Goblinz Publishing are delighted to announce that this pixel-art Japanese-inspired game will finally be leaving Early Access!

Combining turn-based combat with rogue-like and deck-building elements, Shogun Showdown has been complimented on it's challenging yet fair game design, beautiful visuals, satisfying mechanics, and the variety of situations available to players.

Essentially, every action will count, so you'll need to unleash your attacks at just the right time. You can upgrade your attack tiles and combine them, gain new skills, and build the best deck possible before you do battle with the Shogun. Plus, death isn't the end. As it's a rogue-like, death is only the beginning of your journey, and as you play, you'll get new characters, attacks, skills, and plenty more for you to discover.

With the release of Version 1.0, you'll get access to the new location, Ieyasu's garden, where you will face the new boss, Ieyasu the Patient. You'll also find a new elite enemy type, Corrupted, and the new enemy, Corrupted progeny, and most importantly, the true final boss after battling the Shogun: the Corrupted Soul.

You'll also be treated to small cutscenes revealing lore after you defeat a new Day for the first time. You can also see these by accessing the main menu, and selecting Other, then Endings. They've also reworked the boss barks and descriptions.

You'll also be able to unlock the new hero, Chain Master, find seven new skills, six new quests, seven new tiles, and a new Stats page in the camp archive. Of the seven new skills, you'll find:

  • Rogue Retail
  • Seiryu's Scale
  • Fenghuang's Feather
  • Two-Faced Dancer
  • Overflow Guard
  • Chilling Combo
  • Odd Curse

And the new tiles will include:

  • Hookblade
  • Nagiboku
  • Sharp Turn
  • Ki Push
  • Thorns
  • Back-Smoke Bomb
  • Chakram

So, excited about Shogun Showdown leaving Early Access? Get ready for Version 1.0 on the 5th of September! It'll be available on Steam, GOG, Nintendo Switch, PlayStations 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S. Available on Steam for £12.79/$14.99, it's time to get ready to battle the Shogun!
