Check Out Green Hill Zone in Sonic Forces
2017 is a pretty decent year to be a fan of Sonic the Hedgehog. We've got Sonic Mania, a true 2D pixel-art game coming, but also, we have Sonic Forces. A new game that mixes old school side-scrolling Sonic with the new 3D gameplay that's been the focus in the character's post-90s output.
Sega have given us a taste of what to expect from the modern side of gameplay, but we haven't much of our old-school buddy so far. Well, that's been rectified with the release of a gameplay video showing a complete run of Act One of Green Hill Zone. The traditional look and feel of the iconic zone is there, just with a modern polish. The game is due out later this year for Switch, PS4 and Xbox One.

I much prefer this Sonic model to the new one

I'm not sold on this one - it doesn't look like it has the iertia of the 2D Sonic titles. Look at when he kills an enemy for instance, he's moving forward at a decent rate, but can stop on a dime and bounce directly upwards...
Think Sonic Mania is still looking to be the winner for the 2D Sonic titles we deserve...

It looks like Sonic Generations, which want the greatest game ever but I still enjoyed it. Definitely agree that Mania will be better, but that goes without saying.
