Catlateral Damage (Cat Simulator) Kickstarter
Even if you're not a cat person, you still think it's cute to see a furball trapped in a glass fruit bowl. Now you can be that cat!
Taking a leaf out of Surgeon Simulator and Goat Simulator, Catlateral Damage puts you in a cat's place, where it's your sworn duty to cause as much damage and mayhem as possible. With a first-person perspective, you will be in the middle of it as you destroy room after room, house after house on your way to destroy The Super Secret Object at the local mansion.
There's a demo available to play in your web browser with Unity, so you can check out what you are backing before you do it. And backing is a good idea, as for only $15 you get a DRM-free Steam key. Other rewards include: Beta access, t-shirt and laser pointer, your cat as a playable character - you can even force one of the developers to adopt a cat! For everyone who backs $9,999, one of the devs will adopt a cat. So check down the backs of the sofa. There is also a limited tier that gets you Steam codes for Goat Simulator, Octodad: Dadliest Catch, The Stanley Parable, Go Home Dinosaurs, and Slam Bolt Scrappers, so get in quick.
The goal they are aiming for is $40,000, which isn't a massive amount compared to some Kickstarter goals that have existing playable code. They are over a quarter of the way with over 20 days left, with the current total of $12,636.
But why back and get great backer rewards? Here's a list of features being implemented:
Chase (or ignore) mice. You can play with or catch them!
Sit in a box, lie in a sunbeam, or both at once
Chase a laser pointer and completely freak out
Hack up a hairball. Why not?
Find long lost cat toys under the couch and play with them
Explore/hide underneath the bed
Trip out on catnip
Stand at a doorway and be indecisive about going in or out
Meow using state of the art, cutting edge meowing technology
Act indignant because you are the higher species
Also coming: Procedurally-generated gameplay, meaning loads of replayability as you can use the unlockable cats and special abilities to collect hidden objects and unlock new abilities! Achievements, a soundtrack, Steam trading cards, polish... It all makes this fun-sounding game sound even better.
Well worth a $9,999 pledge. Now where's the kids' piggy bank...?
