Cat Colony Crisis Uses Kittens to Teach Players About Viral Outbreaks

Knowledge is power, and Cat Colony Crisis seeks to empower players to respond properly to the current COVID-19 pandemic by teaching them the principles of preventing pathogens from spreading. The free community management game, available on PC, Mac and Android (iOS release coming later) sees players managing the outbreak of a mysterious disease aboard a spacefaring vessel populated by sentient cats. 

Created by Devil's Cider Games, Cat Colony Crisis was crowned the winner of the "Character Management" category of the Jamming the Curve game jam. The collaborative development event, run by IndieCade, Seattle Indies, Georgia Tech and LabX alongside the CDC, tasked independent developers with promoting "prosocial pandemic behaviours" through the medium of videogames. Through combining cats, space and the mega-hit Among Us, Cat Colony Crisis looks to have achieved just that.

Cat Colony Crisis is available now for free on PC, Mac and Android with an iOS release planned for a later date.
