Castlevania Comes to V Rising in Upcoming Free Content Update

Stunlock Studios has released a brand-new teaser trailer for their upcoming free content update. The team's successful open-world survival craft V Rising is basking on its first-ever collaboration, starting strong with none other than Konami and their ever-famous Castlevania series.

The vampire overtaking is going to face its greatest hurdle yet, as the legendary Simon Belmont has made his way into Vardoran, and he's intent on murder. With the latest Legacy of Castlevania free update, you'll have a new boss to face and a new weapon to take advantage of. Once you've encountered Simon Belmont in the overworld and defeated him, you'll be able to wield the newest weapon — the legendary Belmont whip, including all sorts of changes that we've come to expect from varying weapon styles.

Aside from the free content update, including gameplay elements, a new cosmetic DLC will be releasing — Legacy of Castlevania Premium Pack. With this, you'll be able to decorate yourself and your character with a slew of Castlevania-themed items, including castle decorations to bring nostalgia, character customisation inspired by classic Castlevania characters (Dracula, perhaps?), and even two reimagined Castlevania themes by the V Rising composer, Aleksandria Migova, to fill the silence in your castle.

We're all big fans of Castlevania, so being able to actually create original Castlevania content in our game is a dream come true. Konami is no stranger to outsourcing the Castlevania IP to other companies, making this the second time they collaborate with a studio to bring their world into another. First, Dead Cells was graced, where you fight alongside the Belmonts and fight against Dracula himself in the Return to Castlevania DLC. Now, we fight for the opposing team in the Legacy of Castlevania for V Rising, and who knows what other sorts of releases we'll see in the coming years!

Both the Legacy of Castlevania free content update and the Legacy of Castlevania Premium Pack will release on the 8th of May on Steam, and at a later date for the PlayStation 5.
