Carmageddon: Reincarnation Delayed
Carmageddon: Reincarnation spent a long time in an Alpha state while various things were worked on in the background. Since hitting the public beta, however, updates have been much more common. That is, more than twice per year.
However the promised launch date of 23rd April has been decided against - the dev team feels the game isn't ready yet, and like Grolsch lager they are waiting until it is.
And it will be ready on 21st of May!
The reasons are vague and about polishing, but at least it's better than Quantum Break's "We need a year to polish"...
There will be one more Early Access update before launch, but again details are scarce.

I would rather it was delayed and finished correctly than rushed

Of course. People are worried that it still wont be optimised, but hopefully the polish is related.

Ditto. I think last year has made an impact on the usual affair of releasing it when they said they would instead of when it's finished. We've seen a few games get sizeable delays because of it.
A piece of software I use never announces their release date stating "It will be released when it's finished". It works really well as no false hopes are raised.

I honestly reckon this is why Telltale announce their release date 5 days before it comes out.
