Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Season 01 Release News

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022) recently received its Season 01 update, which brought with it a whole bunch of new items and features.

One of the biggest additions is the much anticipated release of Warzone 2.0. The improved battle royale takes place in the dust-filled Middle Eastern-themed Al-Mazrah map, and brought with it a new gulag. The beta of the DMZ Mode also saw a release with Season 01. DMZ also deploys players to Al-Mazrah, but this time with missions to complete; you need to get in, do your job, and get out. The risks are high in both of these modes, so tread lightly.

Another thing worth noting is the reintroduction of hardcore mode, which is now known as “Tier 1”. Tier 1 can be applied to a wide variety of match types, and basically turns those match types into one-hit-kill games with zero HUD and no kill or hit indicators. Simply put, it's tough. With this also comes the Tier 1 exclusive “Control” match type: take turns defending a control point, with a team-shared lives pool — when the team is out of lives, you're done for. 

There are also some new weapons including the M13B assault rifle, BAS-P submachine gun, and Victus MXR .50 calibre bolt-action sniper rifle, to take a look at. There is the Kortac operative, Zeus too. 

The implementation of the Season 01 battle pass is the key to unlocking most of these new extras, whether they be operators, weapons, Blueprints, and more. Just find the item you like and it will also explain how you can unlock it.

• Free-to-play Warzone 2.0.

• The reintroduction of the Shoothouse multiplayer map.
• A permanent Kortac operator, Zeus.
• Limited time football-themed operatives: Messi, Neymar Jr., and Pogba.
• The reintroduction of hardcore mode, now known as Tier 1.
• A fourth co-op mission to tackle.
