Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Will Feature Lewis Hamilton
We're used to seeing sports personalities in games. From John Madden's annual American Football game, through the slew of Association Football starts gracing the cover of FIFA each year, to the majesty that is Lee Carvallo's Putting Challenge. You know where we don't see many sports stars though? In FPS games, that's where.
Three time Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton is hoping to change all that however, as the Mercedes driver features in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. In his first acting role, the driver plays the role of an engineer aboard the Retribution, one of the United Nations Space Alliance’s (UNSA) last remaining warships, following a devastating attack on their fleet in the game’s opening moments.
“I’ve been a Call of Duty fan for long time, so it’s an absolute honour to be part of this game and the franchise” said Lewis Hamilton. “The experience of being put into the game – from the facial scanning process to working with the team on the performance capture stage and just being able to meet the developers at the studio to get a glimpse at all the hard work that goes into the game – this has been an incredible experience."
“Everyone at Infinity Ward was excited to work with Lewis since we’re all huge fans of his,” said Infinity Ward Narrative Director Taylor Kurosaki. “He came to Call of Duty with the same approach he takes to the racetrack, determined to nail his performance – which he absolutely did"
The development is the first time that we've seen a major sports personality starring in a high profile game, but if it's a success, it might not be the last. Here at GameGrin, we're looking forward to seeing David Irvine in the next Duke Nukem, Ronnie O Sullivan appearing in Uncharted and a guest appearance from Phil "The Power" Taylor in Candy Crush Saga.

Oh cool, well known Hollywood actor Lewis Hamilton!
So if I become famous, I can play a part in Volition's next game, because I'm a big fan of Saints Row and Red Faction?

I have no words. The series has completely sold out.

And he wonders why hes having a nightmare season...
Perhaps more concentration on the track side of your career than the poncing about being "famous" Eh?

I'd hardly call second on the table a "nightmare season". :D
Sure, he's not in first as per the norm, but when your team-mate has been the one taking you out like a cheap call-girl, he's going to struggle to succeed.
But yes. Maybe if he concentrated on racing instead of being a celeb, then maybe, just maybe he'd be doing better. Or swimming in his pools of cash. Or banging hot models. Who knows?
