Bungie Warn Players That Steam Deck Usage Could Lead To Bans
With the Steam Deck being the hottest property around for PC players at the moment, it is no doubt that many early adopters of Valve's handheld will be trying out many titles in their collection. You just have to take a look at our article to see that there's over 350+ titles that will run on the unit.
However, fans of Bungie's first-person shooter, Destiny 2, may want to hold off from playing. As seen on Bungie's Steam guide support page, they have clearly stated that "Destiny 2 is not supported for play on the Steam Deck or on any system utilizing Steam Play's Proton unless Windows is installed and running." Furthermore, Bungie will be handing out bans to players, should they persist with trying to run Destiny 2 on the handheld's default SteamOS/Proton installation.
As such, it's safer to not play Destiny 2 on your shiny new Steam Deck. To avoid any unwanted bans it's perhaps better to stay with the approved platforms set out by Bungie.
