Brawling Crime Caper ‘Deadbeat Heroes’ will be Published by Square Enix Collective
You might not have heard of indie studio Deadbeat Productions, but they’re hoping that you soon will, as they join with Square Enix Collective for the publication of their debut title; the 3D brawler Deadbeat Heroes. The game is due for launch later this year, although no fixed release date has been confirmed yet.
Set in a comic book inspired world, the title sees you dodging bullets, stealing super powers from your enemies and generally zipping about in a super-agile manner. You’ll need that agility too, as although your character can happily dish out the pain, the lack of a block function means you’ll need to dodge incoming attacks along the way
“Deadbeat Productions’ debut title Deadbeat Heroes is a fantastic demonstration of this team’s talent”, said Phil Elliott, Director of Community & Indie Development at Square Enix London. “Their AAA development pedigree and first-class writing result in a ‘proper’ 3D fighter that’s immensely colourful and often hilarious. Square Enix Collective is very happy to be working with Deadbeat Productions to release Deadbeat Heroes”.
"Deadbeat Heroes is a game that we've always dreamed of making”, said Adam Langridge, Director at Deadbeat Productions. “We are delighted that the Square Enix Collective team, with their experience, vision and passion believe in the gameplay, style and... well... daftness of Deadbeat as much as we do".
