Borderlands 3 Level Cap Increasing Alongside New Seasonal Event
2019’s hugely successful co-op Borderlands 3 is getting a new free update later this month, detailed in a Community Love Letter posted on the official Borderlands website.
This first part of this new update is a seasonal event to coincide with Valentine’s Day. In typical Borderlands fashion, it’s a quirky one titled Broken Hearts Day. Throughout the event, certain enemies will be feeling a case of love sickness which will result in hearts floating around them. Shooting these hearts will have a variety of effects, from players gaining buffs to those specific enemies switching sides and aiding the player.
The event can be toggled on and off at any time in the menu, so players who don’t want to partake in the gameplay alterations won’t have to. Alongside the event will be a permanent increase to the level cap of the game, from 50 to 53.
Lastly, the Community Love Letter detailed numerous other smaller additions and improvements to the game: True Vault Hunter Mode, skippable cutscenes, Guardian Rank toggling, Event toggling, Fight for Your Life improvements, performance and stability improvements, Mayhem 2.0 and Twitch ECHOcast Extension additions.
All of these updates will be free, with Gearbox promising that any subsequent level cap updates will also be free.
