Blood Bowl II World Cup Announced and Open to Registrations

Cyanide Studios and Focus Home Interactive have announced the first official tournament for Blood Bowl 2, The 2016 Blood Bowl II World Cup, is starting on the 18th May 2016 and lasts for six weeks until the end of June. It's a 64 player knockout contest with each player creating a new team specifically for the contest to keep things nice and even. Once down to a final four, the competition becomes a "best of three" format before the 2016 world champion is crowned.

Unfortunately, the tournament is only open to PC players, but those who are playing on that format will have a number of ways to qualify. First of all, there is the Official World Cup Ladder league. This is a public league open to anyone and there will be three seasons of matches starting on the 11th of February, March and April respectively. The top five in the league after each season will go through to the world cup.

If you are a player in a private league, then you may be able to earn a spot through that league instead. 21 private leagues will also be running their own qualifiers with various rules so if you are already a member of one, or a potential new member, then there's other options open to you.

There's a prize pool of $10 000 alongside a number of other prizes, many provided by sponser Asus from their Republic of Gamers series of hardware included a fully branded Blood Bowl 2 PC, for the champion gaming laptops, graphics cards and everyone qualifying gets the Focus Selection Pack on Steam. Registration is open from now until 9th February so if you're up for the challenge then check out the full details on the website now.
