Blizzard's Live Hearthstone Stream: Big Reveals Including 13 Free Packs For Everyone

Blizzard held a live stream on Twitch today to promote the impending release of the latest Hearthstone expansion, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft. Lead game designed Ben Brode was joined by Hearthstone legend Frodan to discuss the new expansion and reveal some of the new cards that we can expect to see coming next week when it is released. 

They're going free pack crazy. Everyone gets three free packs on the 26th April simply for logging in, as well as C'thun and two Beckoner of Evils. Alongside this, everyone gets a quest to win two games of standard, which you get five packs for completing. That's not all though, if you complete that first quest, you get another quest to win seven games of standard and completing that gets you another five packs! That's essentially 13 free packs just for playing the game.

Over the stream, a lot of new cards were revealed. A lot of them focus on the Old God C'thun, who everyone will be getting and is set to turn the game on its head. He affects the game even while he is sat in your deck, boosting until he is ready to be played, often coming on the field with ridiculous stats (We saw him arrive as a 36/36  at one point in the stream).

Some highlights of the revealed cards included:

• Anomalus (Neutral Epic) - 8/6 minion, Deathrattle: deal 8 damage to all minions
• Cyclopian Horror (Neutral Epic) - 3/3 Taunt, Battlecry: gain +1 health for each enemy minion
• Blood to Ichor (Warrior Rare) - Deal 1 damage to a minion, summon a 2/2 slime if it survives.
• Feral Rage (Warrior Common) - Give your hero 4 attack this turn or gain 8 armour.
• Call of the Wild (Hunter epic) - summon all three animal companions
• Fiery Bat (Common Neutral) - 1/2 minion, Deathrattle: deal 1 damage to a random enemy. (This card is named after Firebat, the first ever hearthstone world champion)
• Twin Emperor Vek'lor (Neutral Legendary) - 7/8 minion, Taunt, Battlecry: if your' C'thun has at least 10 attack (wherever it is), summon another Emperor.
• Doomcaller  (Rare Neutral ) - give your C'thun 2/2 (wherever it is) if it's dead, shuffle it into your deck
• Forbidden Ancient (Druid Epic) - 1/1 minion, Battlecry: spend all your remaining mana gain 1/1 for each mana spent.
• Fandral Staghelm (Druid Legendary) - Your Choose One cards have both effects combined. 3/5
• Corrupted Seer (Rare Neutral) - 2/3 minion, Battlecry: deal 2 damage to all non-Murloc minions.
