Blizzard Take Down Browser-based Version of StarCraft
Blizzard have gone after developer 'Ryuta' after he created a copy of popular game Starcraft using HTML5 and hosted it on GitHub. He also actively promoted this game on Hacker News around a month ago. While the creator may have done so out of his admiration and enjoyment of the original game, his project was seen as infringing copyright due to his use of copyrighted images etc.
Many of the comments from the Hacker News site warned Ryuta about the seriousness of what he had done, but it was not enough for him to take it down. As such it was still around when Blizzard became aware and posted a DMCA on GitHub.
Part of the DMCA states:
"the description of the repository is "HTML5 version of StarCraft game". This repository is a blatant, direct, literal copy of the StarCraft software and is disturbing source code and artwork assets owned by Blizzard without permission."
The repository has now been removed and now the world knows that Blizzard takes the copying of their work very seriously.

Why on earth would he have thought this a good idea? I mean, great technical skills involved but it's just obvious this was going to be dcma'd
