Bioware Developers Got Mass Effect: Andromeda for Christmas
The early release of a hotly anticipated game is often compared to Christmas coming early for fans of the title. In the case of Mass Effect: Andromeda, it was a literal Christmas present for those who work at Bioware.
Bioware's General Manager Aaryn Flynn [position] told us how: "Over this holiday break, developers at BioWare took home a version of the game in what we call the “holiday build”. This is a longstanding studio tradition that goes back to the early days of the original Mass Effect. Many load up a PC or console and go home to play as much as possible at their leisure. Coming back from holiday, the feedback has been great. Getting the endorsement from members of our studio, many of whom played key roles on the original trilogy, was definitely a key factor in helping us lock in on the date."
The world of game programming is a hard one, with long hours and a lot of pressure to perform. It's nice to see that Bioware are recognising that hard work and rewarding their employees, even if we are super jealous of them! It also serves an important function in helping to make sure the game is bug-free when it arrives on shelves.
The game has recently had a launch date announcement and a trailer revealed. If you haven't already, why not check it out.
