Bethesda Reveals Its Cast for The Evil Within
Bethesda has announced the cast for its upcoming survival horror The Evil Within with a combination press release and video announcement.
The game's cast is a solid list of award nominees and winners for their roles in TV and movies, although none of them appear to have previous experience with voice-acting for games. The game's protagonist, Sebastian, will be voiced by actor Anson Mount (Hell on Wheels, Lost). Jackie Earle Haley (Rorschach in Watchmen, Freddy Krueger in the 2010 A Nightmare on Elm Street) has been cast as the game's main antagonist, Ruvik. Meanwhile, Jennifer Carpenter (Debra Morgan on Dexter) is sticking with the police as Juli Kidman, a junior detective and Sebastian's partner.
Developed at Tango Gameworks by survival horror legend Shinji Mikami, The Evil Within follows police detective Sebastian Castellanos, who is thrown into a strange nightmare-ish world while investigating a grotesque mass murder. The game is an attempt by Mikami to return to the "roots of survival horror"--scarce resources, and as much an emphasis on avoiding encounters as surviving them. As part of the game's Season Pass, players will have the opportunity to play through post-game content as Juli, lending a new perspective to the game.
The Evil Within will hit shelves on October 17th for PC, new and previous gen consoles.
