BenQ Launches World's First DLP 4K UHD LED Home Cinema Projector
If you absolutely have to have the greatest and largest means of seeing what you're playing, then perhaps a Projector might be the way forward. But if you want the best picture quality, then your options are limited. BenQ are hoping to give some more options in that regard with their latest Projector, the first UHD DLP model in the world designed for home use.
“The meeting of two pinnacles of visual technology, X12000’s pioneering CinematicColor Technology harnesses the high output of ColorSpark HLD LED Technology to bring DCI-P3 colour quality into the home cinema,” said Conway Lee, President of BenQ Corporation. “DCI-P3 is the colour standard of DLP digital cinema, derived from the same technology in use at all IMAX auditoriums worldwide.”
This isn't a fully certified HDR device sadly, but it does support 8.3 million distinct pixels and the cinema standard in wide colour gamut, DCI-P3. It's a standard that's been in use at movie theatres for a while now, but this is the first time that we've seen it in the home.
