Battlefield 4 Banned in China

In a wonderfully obvious move the Chinese Government have banned the game they know as ZianDi4. Publisher Electronic Arts are called out by name by the Chinese military and accused of "cultural agression" and smearing Chinas image.

The game, Set in the year 2020, features a fictional war in China triggered by Admiral Chang with plans to overthrow the existing government. The admirals success will be supported by Russia, but will bring China to war with the United States whose relationship with Russia is teetering on the edge. The game showcases the U.S. military's fight against the coup and Chinese Liberation Army.

Coming shortly after the class action lawsuit of EA investors accusing the company of artificially inflating its stock price this does not bode well for a happy beginning to 2014 for the gaming giant.

All we can think is "Well that escalated quickly".
