Batman: Arkham Knight PC Patch Fixes Some Problems, Promises Significant Improvements
Batman: Arkham Knight for the PC version has launched to a host of problems plaguing the game's performance, leading to the pull-out of the PC version of the game from online retailers and Rocksteady Studios issuing an apology in the past week.
The company has promised that it will make the fixes a priority and will make sure the PC version of the game is at least significantly patched up before restarting sales, and today we see the first step towards their promise, with an interim patch being released.
The items being fixed in today's patch include:
- Fixed a crash that was happening for some users when exiting the game
- Fixed a bug which disabled rain effects and ambient occlusion. We are actively looking into fixing other bugs to improve this further
- Corrected an issue that was causing Steam to re-download the game when verifying the integrity of the game cache through the Steam client
- Fixed a bug that caused the game to crash when turning off Motion Blur in BmSystemSettings.ini. A future patch will enable this in the graphics settings menu
The company has acknowledged that there's still a host of other problems and will be working to clear items on this list as soon as possible:
- Support for frame rates above 30FPS in the graphics settings menu
- Fix for low resolution texture bug
- Improve overall performance and framerate hitches
- Add more options to the graphics settings menu
- Improvements to hard drive streaming and hitches
- Address full screen rendering bug on gaming laptops
- Improvements to system memory and VRAM usage
- NVIDIA SLI bug fixes
- Enabling AMD Crossfire
- NVIDIA and AMD updated drivers
Rocksteady has promised that they will work with the developer team and the partners to continue working on the PC performance issues and is open to more feedback about issues the players face. Hopefully, they will be able to solve the problems plaguing this final installment of the Batman: Arkham series soon and PC users can finally enjoy the finale which has won relatively good reviews for the console versions.

Wow, frames above 30FPS? Those maniacs! That's like something from Minority Report!
