Batman: Arkham Knight Locked at 30fps on PC (& Other Problems)
It appears that Batman: Arkham Knight has hit the same problem that several big titles have recently. Bad PC porting.
The big complaint is that the game is capped at 30 frames per second, rather than the much-worshipped 60fps. This can be changed by manually altering an .ini file — which is something quite daunting to the average gamer.
This comes after Rocksteady altered the minimum recommended specifications for AMD graphics cards:
- AMD Radeon HD 7950 (3 GB Memory Minimum)
There are also some issues with the frame rate dropping and general slowdown, but Steam user Poseidon has posted a guide to the community forum of some fixes you can carry out.
Reading more of the Steam Community, it appears that if you pre-loaded the game, it will likely crash. Verifying the files will result in it re-downloading the entire game again. There are reports of it doing so if you try to Verify at any time, but the pre-load is looking like the culprit.
Finally, as mentioned in our Teaser, there are currently 877 negative reviews, compared to 489 positive reviews. We had to scroll through four pages of negative reviews before seeing one positive in the Top Rated.
Don't forget that, if you want to return the game for any reason at all, Steam have altered their refund policy recently...

During the benchmark - apparently it's during gameplay that it's locked down.

noticed that after i ran a few benchmarks and started playing. But the ini file fix is a piece of piss to do. Though the Nvidia gameworks shiz really hammers the framerates so I've left them off. Bollocks to interactive fog and paper.

It's really stupid. I noticed this as soon as I started playing. Thought it was v-sync at first. Such a neisance having to go through into the ini files and edit this myself. I feel like a lot of recent boasted Nvidia Gameworks titles are plagued with problems for both Nvidia and AMD users. Especially AMD users.
