Barack Obama Praises CD Projekt RED
When the US President, Barack Obama, visited Poland in 2011, the Polish Prime Minister, Donald Tusk gave him a copy of the Witcher 2: Special Edition as a gift. In a recent trip to Poland he accredited the game, saying that it was a "great example" of Poland's growing economy and influence.
The last time I was here, Donald gave me a gift, the video game developed here in Poland that's won fans the world over, The Witcher, I confess, I'm not very good at video games, but I've been told that it is a great example of Poland's place in the new global economy. And it's a tribute to the talents and work ethic of the Polish people as well as the wise stewardship of Polish leaders like prime minister Tusk.
- Barack Obama, President of United States of America
The Witcher is developed by CD Projekt RED and is arguably the most well-known videogame series ever to come out of Poland. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is slated for release in February 2015.
