ASUS' ROG Ally Is A New Steam Deck Competitor
After the impressive success of Valve's Steam Deck, it is only natural — and encouraged — for competitors to flood the market. The latest of which is ASUS' ROG Ally, a Windows 11-based competitor that might just impress.
This new Steam Deck competitor sports an AMD Ryzen Z1 with RDNA 3 graphics that support both RSR and FSR. All of this additional power over the Steam Deck is necessary due to the heightened display, a 7'' screen with a 1920x1080 resolution, meaning you will get additional graphics quality over Valve's machine.
Shown also are the ROG Ally's accessories, including the ROG Gaming Charger Dock (alongside the ROG Raikiri Pro controller) and the ROG XG Mobile, which is compatible with a card up to GeForce RTX 4090 mobile for 4K gaming and beyond.
In short, this new Windows 11 Steam Deck competitor is shooting to kill. With an impressive display, game-changing accessories, and promising PC gaming benefits that not even the Steam Deck can handle at the moment (such as a 120hz refresh rate screen), the ROG Ally is impressive on paper. Although we are still waiting on a pricing update — and hoping it is competitively priced against the Steam Deck — we are yet to have any information on this area. One can hope!
Take part in the ROG Ally hype when the console releases worldwide in Summer 2023!
