Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag - Freedom Cry DLC Launched
Yesterday, Ubisoft launched the first 'proper' bit of DLC for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Freedom Cry. Set a few years after the events of IV, this addon focuses on Adewale, Edward Kenway's first mate from the campaign's story. Adewale is now, however, both an assassin and has his own ship.
Whilst you'll see the return of naval combat, what's new to this DLC is Adewale's weapons. You'll get to use both a machete and a blunderbuss, both haven't been seen before in an Assassin's Creed game. He can also use firecrackers to manipulate enemy movements.
Rather than trying to help pirates fight, such as in the main campaign, Adewale is trying to liberate slaves which can present a trickier challenge. Destroying a ship outright will kill the slaves on-board so you have to be careful when firing at ships.
Freedom Cry has been slated to offer anywhere from 90 minutes to three hours of new gameplay.
