ARK: Survival Evolved Adds Procedurally-Generated Maps
ARK: Survival Evolved's newest update, patch 248 aims to bring a vast array of variety and diversity to players as it brings procedurally-generated maps to the game along with three new creatures and new explorer notes on the main islands.
Procedurally-generated maps allow players to customise their experience by creating a unique ARK to explore and survive, you can tweak mountain and valley height, amount of lakes, the types of biome and more.
Three new creatures make their appearance too, the vicious looking Chalicotherium that hurls boulders with reckless abandon, the underwater Diplocaulus and the rather nasty looking Kaprosuchus.
Along with these new things they've also added an "Explorer Notes System" to the main lands, where you can discover story snippets and get an experience buff from finding these hidden in chests.
