ARG Created to Countdown to Secret World Legends

With the Secret World reboot coming soon, fans of the game are understandably getting excited. There's a whole load of new content coming as well as new combat mechanics, new quests, and of course there's the small matter of the game now being completely gratis as it goes free-to-play.

There's only a few days left now, so Funcom are helping players to count down the days to the release by creating an Augmented Reality Game that focuses on the solving of intricate puzzles to solve a grand mystery.

The mini game is titled Kiss of the Revenant and is available now as a free download for all players. It will run up until the main game launches on the 26th of June. The game is based around a tragic tale of love on the Savage Coast, and completing it will earn players exclusive in-game weapons when Secret World Legends itself hits digital shelves. 

"This is a fantastic throwback to the early days of The Secret World when we ran massive ARGs with thousands of players involved," says Game Director Romain Amiel. "We wanted to give fans an opportunity to experience that excitement again, and it is really the perfect way to get into the spirit of the Secret World universe as enter the final days before launch."

The title was created in collaboration with gaming studio Alice and Smith, who specialise in alternate reality games and puzzle events. As part of the event, a special edition of Secret World Legends will be available on Steam, including a copy of Alice and Smith's own title The Black Watchmen.
