Are You Strong Enough for the Dark Souls III Wings Challenge?
If there's one thing that the Souls series is known for, it's the brutal punishment that it hands out to its players. This is also something which Capsaicin, the 'heat' chemical in chilli peppers, is known for. Anyone who's ever eaten ghost peppers or the infamous Trinidad Scorpion will attest to that.
If you're into your punishment though, and we assume you are seeing as you're reading about DARK SOULS III, then you might well be the kind of person who Bandai Namco and MEATliquor have in mind for the Dark Souls Wings Challenge. Taking place at various MEATliquor locations around the UK, including London, Leeds, Brighton and Bristol, the challenge sees players compete to eat some of the fieriest wings in town.
The company didn't state just how hot the wings are, but they did make it clear that participants will have to sign a waiver stating they accept any risks, and chefs cooking the wings will need to wear gloves, protective eye wear and a face mask. These are not your average wings, just like Dark Souls III isn't your average game.
Anyone who completes the challenge will win that food challenge staple, a commemorative t-shirt, as well as an entry on the restaurant's leader board. The fastest finisher at each restaurant will also earn themselves a copy of the Collector's Edition of the game. There's a grand prize up for grabs too: a copy of the Prestige edition will go to whoever demolishes the wings quickest in the UK. We covered the special editions of the game a few months ago, so be sure to check them out here.
“We’re very excited to be partnering with such an exciting food group as MEATliquor, whose famous food, individual approach and adventurous challenges have clearly captured the interest of food enthusiasts all across the UK” said Lee Kirton, PR & Marketing Director of Bandai Namco Entertainment UK. “Dark Souls III challenges players to overcome the odds – and we hope everyone will also enjoy the challenge of overcoming these incredibly hot wings”.

This looks horrible. The rare times I've been to Nandos, I've had to order plain chicken, as even the least spicy was too spicy for me. Why would anybody do this to themselves.

That's madness. Always Extra Hot when I order, and add the Extra, Extra Hot myself as they refuse to cook with it.
