Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp - October Datamine
Ah, Animal Crossing. The game where we go and pretend to be friends with a whole bunch of animals and choose our absolute favourite. It also has made us all question which animal we would be.
No? Just me?
Well, regardless of whether you've wanted to be a cat, gorgeous and beautiful like Ankha; or a medieval, beautiful bird like Celia, we've all at least played it and found a lot of enjoyment on our own towns, camp, and islands. We've all been enslaved by that one, notorious raccoon, and love the game so deeply for the escape it offers us into furry reality.
If you've played Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, you know that there is a month-long event always active including tons of exclusive furniture that you won't be able to get in the future aside from reissues. And, if you're anything like my wife, you're neurotic and absolutely terrified of using your Leaf Tickets in case there is a better choice just around the corner.
Well fret not, because I am here to be your saving grace. For reddit user u/windkirby and his team of ruffian data-miners have got you covered. Them and, of course, me. I hope one day I can be placed side by side as part of his team of reporters... One can dream.
As written on WindKirby's reddit post, there are all sorts of goodies coming to us this October. I will be writing an overview of everything being added, but you can check out the reddit post too for their words on the matter.
Jack's Pumpkin Party
The name of the month-long event. Hosted by none other than the Czar of Halloween, our pumpkin headed friend: Jack.
Spooktober’s event will have campers such as you and I scrounging for Jack's lollipops. Each lollipop is a reward for the three sub-events throughout the month, and you will need to get a total of 90 for the grand prize: the Jack-o'-Lantern Display.
The grand prize, however, is not the only reason you should be fumbling about for Jack's lollipops. Jack's Pumpkin Party gives many rewards that should be appealing to just about anyone, not only fellow Halloween lovers.
As for the rewards in the goals section, here is the list of them:
- 15 Leaf Tickets
- One Buncha Leaf Tickets Map
- One Sparkle Stone
- Six Reissue Orbs
- Two Reissue Maps
- Six Pumpkin Party Gifts
- One Pumpkin Party Gift+
- Six Pumpkin Planters
- One Jack-o'-Lantern Display
Quite the haul, I'd say. And those gifts will come in handy for your Halloween lover friends. I, personally, will be giving them to my wife. She's quivering from excitement.
Jack's Fantastical Fable
I'm gonna come clean. I don't adore the spooky season as much as many Halloween aficionados and certainly nowhere near as much as Jack. But one thing you can always sell me on will be medieval, and I cannot tell you how much I absolutely adore the fact that this Halloween is centred around medieval towns.
The first of the three events is none other than Jack's Fantastical Fable. This event will have you planting pumpkins and catching imps wearing suspiciously pointy and green hats. Each time you catch a certain amount, you will get some of the rewards, centring around a medieval fantasy town that reminds me an awful lot of RPG games.... Or Zelda.
You can also exchange the pumpkins you have planted for rewards. As of right now, we are in the first half of the event and can only plant and use the first set of pumpkins. Here are the exchange rates:
Yellow Pumpkin - 20 Yellow Pumpkins
Home-village Lamppost - 30 Yellow Pumpkins
Home-village Grass - 50 Yellow Pumpkins
Blue Home-village House - 100 Yellow Pumpkins
Many of these items you can get already for catching the imps. These are to get more duplicates to further enhance your village.
Hero's Quest Collection
The Hero's Quest Collection outfits are meant to spring your medieval fantasy to life with knights, wizards and clerics; each with their own unique handheld item to go with the clothes. That's also not to forget the evil variant of each of these categories.
A beautiful way to spruce up your fantasy world is to fit your campers into these clothes. You can give them both the good and evil sets to make a crew of villains and heroes to fit your town. Just keep in mind: You cannot put the knight helmet on campers.
Poncho's Hero Cookie
Poncho's Hero Cookie is the first of the not-yet available (at time of writing) datamined by WindKirby and his team.
Poncho's Hero Cookie reminds me an awful lot of BBC's Merlin, filled with Excalibur, the Crystal Cave, and even Kilgharrah.
Jokes aside, the cookie's five-star item will be a towering dragon that you can use to decorate your campsite or cabin as the protector of the fated sword.
Poncho's Hero Cookie will release on the 4th of October GMT / 3rd of October PST.
Heroic Adventure Terrain
With medieval fantasy in mind, Nintendo has released an all new terrain to go with your medieval town goodies: The "Heroic Adventure Terrain".
With textures very reminiscent of Minecraft, with the tree and pixel-esque art-style, this terrain will split your campsite in two: One half, belonging to the evil overlord, castle included. The other side, with a beautiful blocky dirt path to show you the road most travelled, and the background filled with trees that are very Minecrafty, I might even confuse which game I'm in.
Let's just hope I don't end up getting too confused and punching Gala for some food. After all, a gamer's gotta eat.
The Heroic Terrain is up for grabs now, all of the separate parts are sold for Leaf Tickets.
Jack's Throne of Darkness
Jack makes his second appearance as a piece of special furniture this Spooktober, with Jack's Throne of Darkness.
Jack sits atop a throne in this all new special furniture, where he reads from a book and a summoning circle appears in front of him. My best guess is that it's a book of spells, and he's using necromancy. Possibly trying to resurrect Lucky.
He will also work perfectly as the villain to all of your medieval stories as a necromancer, or even the one wizard to have summoned the dragon.
I feel like this special furniture truly does the Czar of Halloween justice. You can snag it 4th of October GMT / 3rd of October PST for Leaf Tickets.
Mysterious Wall & Floor Collection
If you're wondering why it's not in banner form, you can thank WindKirby for not providing a picture of it. Damn you, Woodsy!
The mysterious wall and floor collection is set to make your cabin look either like a fortune-telling place or the Sacred Grove.
This also works as a sneak-peek to the upcoming Queenie's Mystic Cookie. Or so I speculate. Don't take my word as sacred, I'm just the messenger!
Fishing Tourney - Starry Star Signs
The Fishing Tourney will feature Zodiac-like furniture in exchange for sweet, sweet fish. I'd honestly say more about this, but Mercury is in retrograde right now.
Jokes aside, from the looks of it, we're getting some sort of sign with what seems to be the astrological symbols. Do I see Libra or am I crazy? And whichever one that fish is.
The Fishing Tourney will begin on the 12th of October GMT / 11th of October PST. But I don't think I needed to really add that because it's right there.
Sweet Scavenger Haunt
The last of the sub-events of Jack's Pumpkin Party, Sweet Scavenger Haunt will have us running around grabbing little gyroidites for some beautiful orange-purple themed furniture.
Although not much is mentioned about the Scavenger Haunt on WindKirby's post, we can see more furniture on Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp's official Twitter. Which, fun fact, is run by Lloid the gyroid.
We have deduced that this bottom-right section of the image showcases the Scavenger Haunt's items due to the similarity of two of the ~9 items on screen. I assume the big square buffet table and the long one will be the two Leaf Ticket items.
Also, did you know that gyroidites are real? In the Kofun Japan period (200 to 500 AD) they were clay figurines. They were buried with the dead. Yeah, now that is Halloween. So every time you grab a gyroidite, just know that below you're standing on top of a buried person. Does that change how you view Lloid?
Reissues & Restocks
It also seems like the reissued items for the month will be several different cookies with a Halloween theme (duh) and several medieval/castle-like reissued furniture. All of which are the following:
- The Elegant and Concert Wall & Floor Collection (6 Oct GMT / Oct 5 PST)
- Backyard and Basement Wall & Floor Collection (6 Oct GMT / Oct 5 PST)
- Crystal Collection (Pink) from Fishing Tourney 11 (7th Oct GMT / Oct 6 PST)
- Potion Commotion from Fishing Tourney 31 (7th Oct GMT / Oct 6 PST)
- Garden Labyrinth (Katie's Living Labyrinth) (7th Oct GMT / Oct 6 PST)
- Kiki's Black Cat Cookie (9th Oct GMT / Oct 8 PST)
- Muffy's Creepy Cookie (10th Oct GMT / Oct 9 PST)
- Lucky's Frightful Cookie (10th Oct GMT / Oct 9 PST)
WindKirby also speculates the cookie "Chief's Fall Feels Cookie" will restock due to the reissued Happy Home Classes.
That is it for all of the most important items coming this month! What do you think of the reissued items? Which ones are you most excited for? Will you just be skipping this altogether in favour of the upcoming Yule in three months? Let me know in the comments below, I love hearing everyone's thoughts. I personally am super excited for the Fantastical Fable.
As always, stay awesome!
