Angry Birds 2 Launches
With end-of-level bosses, spells to use, new slingshots and more pigs than you can pop in an afternoon -- it must be Angry Birds 2!
It's been almost six years since Angry Birds hit iOS, and with 14 episodes, 32 chapters and almost 600 levels, it was about time for something new. The last set of levels were released in December 2014, and they are probably the last - you have something else to play now!
Available from today on iOS and Android, and featuring a new bird Silver who is more pig-like than normal, Angry Birds 2 is the sequel we didn't know we wanted.
“Design technology has evolved dramatically since the original game launched in 2009. With Angry Birds 2 we wanted to bring a level of expressive depth and detail seen previously only in a console game or animated series – and create a new game that kids and adults alike won’t be able to put down.
Angry Birds 2 doubles down on the core tenets of the original that our fans loved: destruction and more destruction! At the same time it adds a whole new layer of emergent strategy gameplay for both old and new fans to master.
- Niklas Hed, Co-Founder, Rovio
The free-to-play version allows you to earn Gems for extra birds, lives and tickets during play and completing quests, and by watching videos -- or of course, paying with real money. It has graphics that are more akin to a cartoon, which works well given the fact the Angry Birds movie is coming out next year. Rovio seem set to have Red as recognisable as Mickey Mouse by 2020.
We'll give you more information as we have it, and expect a review soon.
