AMC Renew 'The Walking Dead' for Fifth Season

Even after the third season audiences have flocked back to Rick, Carl and the rest of their group as they continue to try and survive the zombie apocalypse.

With the series returning for its fourth season a few weeks back to record viewing numbers, 16.1 million for episode 1 with episodes 2 and 3 pulling in 13.9 million and 12.9 million (the three highest for the series so far!), it's not surprising that AMC have announced the renewal of the series for a fifth season.

Season four will continue to air into early December when it will take a mid season break, returning to screens in February 2014.
